Quite often, to obtain the subtle detail of a pose, students can use props to suit their body and capabilities ensuring correctness and alignment. The use of props for beginners allows them to develop their practice and can also help well-practiced students refine their asana.

Since I started regular Iyengar classes I have been lucky enough to attend workshops with renowned teachers like Bobby Clennell, Uday Bhosale and Gabriella Giubilaro. One of the blessings to come out of the pandemic has been the ability to attend online workshops hosted by Ahbijata Iyengar at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India. My joy for Iyengar yoga and the benefits it has given me personally are something I hope to share with students when they come to class.
